Us and Earth, where are we heading?

I choose this picture because of the fact that global warming is having this effect on our earth!
The picture is from the following site:

If I would be the man who is in command of drawing a picture of the Europe as we know it, but in the future, more like 40yrs into the future. The picture would look something like this:

  • Humans are at war with one another, all over the world there are conflicts about things such as education all the way to things such as two cultures meeting each other.
  • Earth is a place which people isn’t enjoying.
  • Earth is a place which is truly highly-developed; the thing though, is that all the knowledge has been used by the wrong hands.
  • Most animal species, which are on the way to extinction, will perish. But also because so many species are gone I believe that many species will be taking their place. It has always been that way and that’s not only for animals but even for humans the human specie is one that have been replaced by a new and better one all the time.
  • Also earth will be a planet which is extremely overheated mostly thanks to the greenhouse-effect which will most likely be the reason for the disappearance of earth’s vegetation.

  1. Well its interesting how you depict a future mother earth and mostly i agree with you because we cant continiue our way of living right now. For example if the worlds population would live like us swedes we would need four planets. That is a very scary fact, and we who live here are very fortunate. But like you saying if continiue to live like this and ignoring the very evident facts that scientist are giving us we will have a society as the one you are describing. I mean i dont think it's a coincidence that we're having all these nature disasters. Im not saying there wasnt no natural disasters earlier in history butd it definetly didnt happen as often as its now. Just this year we have had two major natural disasters, the earthquake in Haiti who killed 200 000 and orphanaged millions of children. And the Chilean earthquake that have killed up to 1000 people. So either we take scientist for serious and invest in renewable energy or our and those to be borns future dosnt look good.
